Turkey Leg Rattle

And here’s the original. Somehow posted after the second iteration (the ornament version, but alas). This is actually my third time with this pattern! I made the one for my niece, presented at Thanksgiving, which was just so cute that my Dad asked for me to make on for his coworker and a family friend expressed an acceptable amount of interest in one for her grandson.

The niece’s and the coworker’s went pretty smoothly, and I even got my Mom to weave in the ends on the second one (thanks Mom!). I thought the third time around I’d try to catch a couple of images. For this size of the pattern, I use a 4mm crochet hook and caron one pound in espresso and white

First bit of stuffing and the rattle insert went in around row 22 (pictured above). Pay attention to the size of your rattle insert though. Please think about placing it a little too early rather than a little too late and have to frog a row or two.

Items:
Caron One Pound, Espresso
Caron One Pound, White
Rattle insert (I purchased in a variety pack)
Poly-fil
Crochet hook, size G/4 mm (crochet amour is my preference, linked singly, also available in a set)
